Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has strongly denied allegations linking him to the tragic death of his wife.
He described a viral video in which his daughter appears to accuse him as a calculated attempt by political enemies to tarnish his image.
In a press briefing on Sunday, Governor Eno dismissed the video as “deeply manipulated,” suggesting it was orchestrated by political adversaries ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
He stated that his daughter, whom he described as emotionally vulnerable and estranged, had been “lured, exploited, and filmed under false pretences.”

“My political rivals are behind this,” Eno said firmly. “They are using my own child to create chaos, provoke public sentiment, and undermine my leadership.”
The video, which surfaced on social media over the weekend, has sparked widespread reactions.
In it, a young woman—allegedly the governor’s daughter—makes emotional claims insinuating her father’s role in her mother’s passing.
Governor Eno appealed for privacy for his family and urged the public not to fall for what he called “malicious propaganda.”
He also assured that legal action would be taken against those responsible for spreading defamatory content.
