Anambra police arrest two over kidnap, murder of female banker after payment of N14m ransom

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects linked to the kidnapping and murder of a female bank manager after collecting a ransom of ₦14 million from her family.
The suspects, identified as 32-year-old Monday Egbe and 28-year-old Kenneth Nnoga, were tracked down at a criminal hideout in a neighbouring state by operatives of the Command during ongoing investigations.
The incident occurred earlier this year on January 13, 2025, when the victim, Ifeoma, was found dead along Nnobi Road with her hands tied, shortly after her abductors had received the ransom.
The police stated that the suspects are currently being interrogated to uncover more details about the gang’s operations and to facilitate the arrest of other members.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice and safeguarding lives and property across the state.
