Teen goes viral after celebrating graduation with 6 Fs and 400 absences

A 17-year-old high school student has drawn widespread attention online after celebrating his graduation, despite failing six courses and accumulating over 400 absences.
Sharing his story on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle @theREELkoolaid, the student proudly announced that he graduated from Crawford High School.
He also posted a video showing off his certificate with the caption: “400 absences, 6 failed courses, still graduating. Anyone can do it”
The post quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions from users, ranging from disbelief and criticism to curiosity and encouragement.
Some users doubted whether he received an actual diploma, suggesting it might have been a certificate of completion.
@CoachDawg34 wrote: “Whoever believed he graduated is dumb… they gonna give you a certificate of completion. They will not give you a diploma.”
@LakersVsRockets commented: “Like what do you even plan to do with your life?”
@ThatGuyYus joked: “They were so tired of your old ass still in their high school they just gave you a piece of paper to make you go away.”
Others offered a different perspective.
@xohardest suggested: “This means he already had enough credits… Final semester was mostly D’s and a few F’s cuz I didn’t have to go to class, hence his absences.”
@arnaud710 added: “High school grades don’t define you. Get in motion?”
