‘They put me in a pit and were covering it when I screamed’- 13 year-old girl who helped to expose horror chamber of Enugu evil herbalist

The 13-year-old girl whose scream attracted the security men who busted the evil kingdom of the millionaire native doctor, Obi Obieze — also known as Obu Onyeka, “Ezeani,” has given an account of how it happened.

According to her, the men who kidnapped her tricked her father before abducting her and running away on a motorcycle.

She said she went to the farm with her father to get firewood to make ‘gaari’ (cassava flakes).

On their way back, they met three men who requested to use her father’s cutlass to fix something on their motorcycle.

The little girl said his father obliged them. She said in the twinkling of an eye, they capitalised on a moment of distraction and abducted her.

She recounted that they put her on the bike and took her to Ezeani’s premises, where they reportedly put her in a pit and were covering it when she screamed with all her energy.

She recounted that her scream attracted some vigilantes nearby who burst into the compound and exposed the evil happening therein.

It would be recalled that a pregnant woman was seen in a kneeling position when a concrete pit was opened.

Other victims were also seen in other parts of the pit, either kneeling or sitting, but all were dead.

It was speculated that the ritualist might have buried them alive. This line of thought was given a fillip by the account of the little girl who said they threw her into the pit and were covering it.
