
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that three people have died following the collapse of a two-storey building in the Ikorodu area on Tuesday, May 28.
According to LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the victims include a 74-year-old man and two siblings, aged 18 and 12. The trio had been trapped under the debris and were later recovered, lifeless.
Additionally, nine adult males were rescued and received treatment from the agency’s Pre-Hospital Care Unit.
The incident occurred at an unfinished two-storey structure located opposite the Mobil (formerly Bugon) Filling Station in the Ota-Ona area.
Over ten people were pulled from the rubble as emergency response teams combed through the site.
