Two female Secret Service officers have been placed on suspension after they were filmed physically fighting each other near former U.S. President Barack Obama’s home in Washington, D.C.
The incident, which took place in the early hours of May 21, occurred about two miles from the White House.
In the video footage, the officers are seen shoving and punching one another. One of the agents was heard on her radio calling for a supervisor, saying, “I need a supervisor out here… immediately before I whoop this girl’s ass.”
Journalist Susan Crabtree, who first posted the video and audio online, reported that the confrontation happened at approximately 2:30 a.m.
The Secret Service has since confirmed the suspension of the two uniformed officers involved and stated that an internal investigation is underway.
