The Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) on Monday sealed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja over failure to pay ground rent spanning 28 years.
Located in the Zone 5 area of the capital, the property was shut down due to the long-standing debt.
This was confirmed by Lere Olayinka, spokesperson for the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Olayinka stated, “FCTA seals PDP Secretariat in Zone 5 Abuja. It was revoked for not paying ground rent. Senator Samaila Mamman Kurfi, owner of the property, failed to pay Ground Rent for 28 years.”
The move comes as part of renewed efforts by the FCTA to enforce property compliance regulations in the capital city.
