Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has strongly denied a viral claim that she said her beauty ruined her chances of getting married.

The delectable actress had granted an interview to Ayo Onikoyi of the Vanguard, where she asserted that beauty was not enough to guarantee a meaningful relationship or marriage.

However, the Instagram-based blog, Instablog9ja appeared to have flipped the statement around by suggesting that the actress failed to get married because of her beauty.

The platform shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) quoting the actress as saying:

“I used to be the centre of attention—admired, desired, and blessed with a beauty that opened doors. Yet, here I am… still unmarried.”

The quote, accompanied by Adunni Ade’s photo, quickly spread online and sparked widespread discussion, as many interpreted it as an expression of regret over being unmarried despite her looks and public appeal.

However, the actress promptly responded to the post, publicly discrediting the statement and demanding that it be removed within 24 hours.

She clarified that the quote was entirely fabricated and had no basis in any verified interview or publication.

In her response, Adunni Ade wrote:

“I kindly request that you take down this post within 24 hours to prevent further action involving my legal team. I do not appreciate the fact that you’re using my name to peddle false news & articles with no verifiable source just to generate engagement.”

The single mother of two made it clear that legal action would follow if the misleading post was not retracted.
