Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe hospitalized after unscripted kick by Zubby Michael on set (Video)

Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe is currently hospitalised with internal bleeding following an unscripted on-set incident involving fellow actor Zubby Michael.
In a viral social media post, Godwin shared that he was kicked in the chest during a scene — a move that was neither scripted nor directed — causing him severe pain.
He stated that he received no immediate support or first aid from the production team and had to seek medical treatment on his own.
“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director. It’s caused me serious pain. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!” he wrote.
A subsequent statement from his management confirmed the situation had escalated, revealing that Godwin was rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding.
“We regret to inform you that Actor 1/3 Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident involving a kick on the chest during filming with his colleague Zubby Michael,” the statement read.
In a tweet on Saturday, Nnadiekwe wrote:
“Just wanted to share an incident that happened on set. This isn’t to call anyone out, but it’s a serious reminder that we need to prioritize each other’s safety on set.I received a kick to the chest by ZM that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director. 🥹 #pacers”
He attached to the tweet a video of Zubby Micheal driving to a residence, scaling the short fence and delivering a flying kick to the chest of Nnadiekwe, who is seen coming out of the house.
Godwin also used the opportunity to call on the Nollywood industry to take safety on film sets more seriously, especially given the lack of insurance and medical preparedness on many productions.
“When we’re working without insurance policies or readily available first aid, unexpected physical actions like this, even if accidental, can have real consequences… What if something more serious had happened?” he asked.
As of the time of this report, Zubby Michael has not issued any public comment regarding the incident.
