“I made N30k daily as LASTMA officer, now I live on goodwill of ex-colleagues” – Dismissed LASTMA staff
I even turned down an opportunity to relocate abroad

A former Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official, Mr. Oluwaseyi, has shared his emotional journey from affluence to a life of hardship, revealing how a string of personal mistakes cost him his career and business.
Speaking in a roadside interview with content creator Yomilistens, the ex-LASTMA officer recounted how, nearly two decades ago, he used to earn up to ₦30,000 daily and saved ₦20,000 consistently.
His monthly earnings, which hovered around ₦460,000, enabled him to invest in two commercial buses and a private vehicle.
However, his ventures fell apart after he handed over the business operations to friends, who ultimately mismanaged them.
He said he also once had an opportunity to relocate abroad but he was making too much money in LASTMA to quit.
On why he left the lucrative job, he blamed it on his indulgences.
He said he went on a drinking spree and was caught drunk on his duty post at Bolade-Oshodi, Lagos. He was subsequently sacked.
Now working as a security guard, he says the experience has been a painful but powerful lesson.
He expressed deep regret for the choices that led to his downfall and now uses his life story to advise his children against repeating the same mistakes.
“It’s not a life I’m proud of, but I share it so they can learn,” he concluded.
