‘No beat am, na hunger’, young lady humiliated but spared beating for allegedly stealing old gas cylinder
Humane Nigerians have stopped a woman from being beaten after she was allegedly caught stealing an old gas cylinder.
She was, however, paraded round a street, mocked and taunted for the alleged anti-social act.
The incident was captured by an X user who posted it on the platform.
The video shows the woman carrying the gas cylinder on her head on a crowded street, surrounded by people, some of whom were shouting ‘Ole!’ (Yoruba word for ‘thief’.
Many of the onlookers in the clip can be heard mocking the lady, making comments about her beauty and shamelessness for resorting to stealing.
The lady can be seen weeping as her accusers insisted she must walk through the streets with the cylinder on her head.
Some humane Nigerians in the crowd prevented anyone from beating her, with some suggesting that she must have done it out of hunger and desperation.
