A former teacher pleaded guilty to having a s*xual relationship with a teenager she met while volunteering at an Arkansas church once frequented by former President Bill Clinton.
Reagan Gray began an intimate relationship with the minor in 2020 when she was 23 and he was just 15 after they met at the iconic Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, where she volunteered with the student ministry.
According to court documents, the boy told investigators that Gray had given him oral s£x — but claimed they did not have full intercourse because she wanted him to “stay pure”.
Gray was arrested last year and was initially charged with s£xual assault in the first and fourth degree. She later pleaded guilty to s£xual assault in the second degree.
The embattled school teacher was sentenced on Monday, May 19, to six years’ probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.
The court ordered her to submit a DNA sample and be placed on the s£x offender registry, according to KARK.
She is not to have any contact with the victim. She has since been fired from her job at Sylvan Hills Middle School.
Trouble started for Gray in 2020 when the victim’s parents discovered a trove of racy text messages, including nude photos, exchanged between the victim and Gray in 2020.
They promptly reported their findings to the church’s then-head pastor Steven Smith, according to court documents.
Smith summoned Gray and asked about the texts, but she assured him the relationship was not “physical.”
Gray was yanked from the student ministry and forced by the church to attend counselling services, to which she agreed.
Not long after that, she was back with the church youth group.
The government got involved and launched an investigation in February 2024 when they learned that Gray had continued to exchange messages with the teen via Snapchat.
Gray reportedly had encounters with the boy nearly a dozen times in her car or apartment, according to the information the victim gave the police.
The scandal also cost Smith his job at the church as he resigned from his position last year.
