A Nigerian lady has said that the doctors have told her she has about 13 months to live after a debilitating neurodegenerative disease diagnosis.

The lady identified as Jemilat on TikTok said she was diagnosed to be suffering from what the doctors called ‘Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis’.

Hear her:

“It all started when I was in high school in 2019, I had a sharp pain in my chest which made them to rush me to the hospital because wasn’t something usual.

Doctors discovered this neurodegenerative disease progressively damaging my motor neurons, leading to lose of muscle control and was gonna eventually fail my respiratory.

I was told that I only had 5 years to live, there’s nothing that I’ve not tried out of these years to make me feel loved at least before I die.. but I never got it.

Exactly first January, 2025, I passed out in a public transport on my way to visit my father’s grave. Was quickly rushed to the hospital, and the next thing I saw was my family around me.

I tried so hard to keep this away from anyone that knows me for so many years because I was scared nobody will love me. My family kept the doctors results from me so they can prevent me emotionally. I had a sharp pain in my heart again for the second time on 2nd May 2025, but I ignored. Was rushed to the hospital on that same night because I couldn’t breathe.

Finally doctors have confirmed I only have 13 months left on earth which happens to be a miracle because I was supposed to be gone by last year.. buh I had extra 2years to survive on that. I pray God makes it a better one for everyone I met/had an encounter with in this beautiful world.

Posting this on my page to be there as a memory for all my loved ones just in case they hear of me when I’m finally gone, they can read through to know exactly what happened to me. Love y’all, and a big thanks to y’all”

Nigerians have bombarded her page with words of encouragement and prayers. They asked her to keep a positive outlook and expect a miracle.
