Adeola, the daughter of veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George, has finally returned to Nigeria after being stranded in Mali for four years.

The joyous news was shared on Monday by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), via her official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who had been missing for four years after being trafficked to Mali, is finally back home. We just received her, alongside Biola Adebayo, who first shared the story, and actor Adeniyi Johnson,” she wrote.

Adeola’s story first came to light when Jumoke George appeared on Talk to B, a show hosted by Biola Adebayo.

During the emotional interview, the actress revealed that her first daughter had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan before vanishing after expressing plans to travel to Lagos.

Years later, Adeola contacted the family, apologised, and explained that she had travelled abroad with friends in search of better opportunities.

In the same interview, Jumoke George also shared her personal challenges, revealing that poor health and financial hardship had forced her to decline acting roles, refund fees, and seek loans to cover medical expenses, some amounting to N400,000.

She added that whatever little income she made went towards searching for her missing daughter.

Biola Adebayo confirmed that Jumoke George is currently receiving treatment at a public hospital in Lagos.
