Celebrity designer, Veekee James, has come under attack from woke Nigerians for advising her sister-law and other women to ‘just open their legs’ to please their husbands.

She was giving advice to her sister-in-law at her bridal shower.

She jocularly said she garnered almost one year and six months of experience in marriage, and as such, she was qualified to offer her advice to complement the advice given by the old women who spoke ahead of her.

She advised her sister in law to make every effort to satisfy her husband in bed, even when she is tired.

According to her, when she is tired, all she has to do is open her legs and not worry about doing any work.

“Mummy said, ‘Don’t deny your husband sex’. There are times you might be tired. Mummy said no matter how angry, hun hun. Sometimes, you are not angry. Honestly, you are not angry at him. But you are just very tired, and the last thing you want is for anyone to touch you.  So tired we cannot move. Some days, if you don’t do that thing, he can go and (indecipherable) in the bathroom. My sister, just lie down and open your legs (general laughter). You don’t need to do any work. Just make the crooked way straight. (More laughter)

“That is not to say there will not be some days you will have to tell him you are not doing. You will know how you will say it. There is a way you will pet him, unless he is a wicked person. He will know that you must be really tired because on other days when you were tired, you always ensured he was satisfied.”

She also advised the bride-to-be to “never ever compare” her man to another man, no matter who the man is.

Some netizens have, however, been dragging the designer for her opinion.

See some comments:

@Arianacrypto202: “So we’ve reached the ‘just lie down’ phase of marital advice? At this point, some people are handing out vows like warranty terms. Should we be worried or just bring popcorn?

@POTFRNG: “Sex in marriage should be a mutual expression of love, not a duty or chore. Suggesting that a woman should ‘just lie down’ ignores the importance of consent, emotional connection, and mutual enjoyment.

Intimacy thrives on respect, not obligation. It’s meant to be mutual, respectful, and consensual.

Telling women to just ‘lie down and open your legs’ promotes harmful ideas that reduce intimacy to obligation. We can do better for the next generation of wives.”

@alaye_ng: “She’s Right. Some Women don’t know part of their duty is satisfying their husband, and you might not be in the mood, but you just have to do it. Understanding and Compromise are important for a relationship to last.”

@Beautiranye: “Any man that will get an erection with a woman who will just open their legs for you to just do the work is a wild animal.”

@HarveySzn101010: “Someone said the last phase of a ho€ is a religious woman”

@lifeissues_11: “Sometimes na me dey tire of s3x self no be my women.

Watin dey confused me be say when I go outside go see another woman, I dey come get feelings again but I fit sleep with my woman on the same bed for two months no feelings. Watin that one mean? NJ”

@it_Rutie: “Lie down and open leg as how? Abeg get out”

@iamAbode: “Intimacy in marriage should be mutual, not forced.

While sex is important, it must be built on love, communication, and respect. No caring husband would press on if his wife is truly tired. But if “tiredness” becomes a constant excuse, it’s a sign the couple needs to talk.

@abazwhyllzz: “To me I think if someone says she’s tired, you should respect that. My own opinion tho”

@seanelhadji: “Reading through the comments, it’s obvious a lot of Nigerians are broken and damaged human beings! Many have not experienced love, many were also not raised in atmospheres where love existed! It is well !!”

@UdyAsuquo: “I need more people to normalise telling people like this to shut up in public spaces.

Then go ahead to educate them on how dangerous that thought process is.

This is madam telling women that marital rape is okay. We should start shutting it down.”
