FG unveils new digital platform for citizenship, business services

The Federal Government has launched a new digital platform designed to simplify the application and processing of citizenship and business services in Nigeria.
According to a statement released on Saturday, May 17, by Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, the initiative is part of broader reforms aimed at enhancing transparency, boosting efficiency, and improving service delivery.
Ajani explained that the platform will provide faster processing times and a more seamless experience for users. It can be accessed through the Ministry’s official website (interior.gov.ng) or directly via candb.interior.gov.ng. Support is also available through the email address candb-support@interior.gov.ng.
She emphasised the Ministry’s commitment to building a more transparent and secure framework for citizenship administration while continuing to modernise services through digital transformation.
This development follows other recent tech-driven initiatives by the Ministry. In February, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced plans to introduce digital landing and exit cards for visitors, to be completed before arriving in Nigeria.
Tunji-Ojo also highlighted efforts to harmonise immigration data systems and link them with both national and international security databases, ensuring that all approvals are cleared through systems like Interpol and criminal background checks in real time.
