Victims of a prolific internet fraudster in Johannesburg Central Business District in South Africa have teamed up to trace the conman and mete out their own brand of justice.
The fraudster reportedly used Facebook to market non-existent iPhones to unsuspecting members of the public, who sent money and waited endlessly for their delivery until they realised they had been conned.
A group of his victims reportedly decided to collaborate to track the conman down using technology.
Their efforts paid off as they tracked the man down to a studio apartment in the CBD. They did not bother to inform the police, but took along a sjambok—a heavy whip commonly used in South Africa, and belts.
Upon seizing him, the victims reportedly took turns to flog him mercilessly.
It was not stated if they still handed him over to the police after flogging him.
