A 46-year-old man, Philip Ogbuehi, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command following the death of an unidentified man during a dispute over right of passage at a lounge in the Ogidan Sangotedo area of Lagos.
The incident occurred on May 6, 2025, around 8 p.m., when a heated argument between Ogbuehi and the victim escalated.
Ogbuehi allegedly punched the man in the chest, causing him to lose consciousness. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest and stated that the victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at the Mainland Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
