A group of aggrieved Nigerian parents stormed the office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to protest what they described as unusually low Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores recorded by their children.
Their action follows JAMB’s earlier revelation that over 70% of candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME scored below 200, sparking widespread concerns and allegations of irregularities.
Many parents claimed their wards, who had previously excelled in the exams, received unexpectedly low marks this year. They gathered at the JAMB office, demanding a review of the released results.
The protest stirred reactions across social media, with many users mocking the parents’ actions and questioning the academic preparedness of the students involved.
Some of the comments included:
@Cleverlydey4u: “What if the pikin no sabi book?”
@olobacollins6: “Pikin nor know book, una dey protest 😂”
@Rozam1030: “You guys should leave JAMB alone and blame your children for not reading.”
@phemidawhiz: “Too much pampering. Get them lesson teachers instead of storming JAMB office.”
@BigPeace6: “If the children were confident, why didn’t they come out to protest themselves?”
@Davey_Mamman: “The same kids are at home posting ‘school na scam’ on TikTok.”
