Ex-ally of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Dr Sandra Duru, has shared a copy of a formal petition she sent to the International Criminal Court, accusing Natasha of confessing on tape to a series of serious offences.

Duru, also known as Prof Mgbeke, was working with Natasha to prosecute her campaign of sexual harassment against the Senate President of Nigeria, Godswill Akpabio, until they fell apart.

They have since become sworn enemies, trading accusations against each other.

Duru claimed the turning point for her was when she asked Natasha for her proof against the Senate President, and she said there was none and that her accusation was a payback for Akpabio removing her from her chairmanship post on the local content committee of the senate.

She claimed she tried to convince Natasha to change course and make peace with Akpabio, but she refused to budge.

Duru further shared their chats and audio clips to authenticate her claims.

In her petition to the ICC, Duru alleged that Natasha admitted on tape to knowing how a girl, Iniobong Umoren, was k!lled and her organs were used for the wife of the senate president, who was sick at the time.

She said this is a crime against humanity, and as such, the ICC needed to investigate the claims, and if found to be false, Natasha should be tried for criminal defamation.

The petition reads in part:

“This grave confession reveals a potential case of :

“-Accessory to murder after the fact (by withholding evidence)

-Conspiracy in a transnational crime of organ trafficking

-Obstruction of justice and abuse of public office

-Criminal defamation and false allegations, if her claims are unfounded.

Under international law, specifically Article 25 and Article 28 of the Rome Statute, individuals, including public officials, who knowingly withhold information about crimes against humanity or participate in a cover-up may be held criminally responsible.

Moreover, I am compelled to expose another disturbing revelation from a private recorded discussion I had with Senator Akpoti. She confessed that the recent sexual harassment allegations she made against Senator President Godswill Akpabio were part of a “political game and ‘payback” following her removal from a preferred Senate Committee.”

Duru also wrote in the petition that Natasha was trivialising the global fight for women’s emancipation by lying to the global community that she was sexually harassed when no such thing happened.

The petition dated April 3, has not been officially responded to by the ICC at the time of filing this report.
