Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd), former Minister of Police Affairs and one-time Military Administrator of Bayelsa State, has passed away at the age of 70.
Olubolade reportedly collapsed while playing lawn tennis on Sunday, May 11, at a tennis facility in Apapa, Lagos.
According to a statement released by his children, Oluwayemisi Akinadewo and Dayo Olubolade, the retired naval officer had driven himself to the venue before slumping during the game.
Despite immediate efforts by medical personnel present, he could not be revived.
He was later confirmed dead at Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital in Apapa.
The late Olubolade, who hailed from Ekiti State, celebrated his 70th birthday on November 30, 2024. The family has stated that details of his funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.
