Over 8,000 UTME candidates allegedly petition JAMB over low scores
Demand full mark sheets
More than 8,391 candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have reportedly lodged formal complaints against the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), alleging that they were given abnormally low scores due to system glitches.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @winexviv, the affected candidates filled out complaint forms that will be submitted to court, demanding that JAMB release their full mark sheets for transparency.
The students argue that discrepancies in the results may have stemmed from technical faults and insist on seeing the questions they answered, what they got wrong, and the actual correct responses to ensure fairness.
“Currently, we have 8,391 students who have sent in their complaints regarding the glitches in the JAMB 2025 exam,” @winexviv wrote, describing the situation as damaging to the mental health and future prospects of the affected candidates.
The post sparked a wave of reactions online, with many users criticizing JAMB for alleged inefficiency and lack of transparency. While some supported the aggrieved candidates, others argued that JAMB was under attack by people trying to undermine its anti-malpractice efforts.
