A Nigerian student has taken to social media to express deep disappointment after scoring 155 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), despite rigorous preparation using over 25 past question papers and excelling in mock exams.

The candidate, whose post appeared on X (formerly Twitter), described her shock and frustration at the result, especially given her strong academic history.

She shared that she had written JAMB the previous year and scored 297 but she narrowly missed admission because of some hitches in post-UTME and WAEC.

Determined to improve her chances, she dedicated herself to months of study and aced her mock exam.

“I came prepared this year,” she wrote. “I studied over 25 past questions only to wake up this morning and see a ridiculous result. I’ve never scored less than 250 in any mock or JAMB I’ve written.”

Her father also voiced his concerns, supporting her claims and highlighting irregularities he observed during her experience at the CBT center, raising further questions about the reliability of the exam process.

He said his daughter was logged out twice during the exam and wondered if the system submitted her work before she was actually done.

He said he was a Chemistry teacher and personally taught her in the subject, taking her through loads of past questions.

He insisted there was no way his daughter could have scored less than 70 in Chemistry.

He called for a probe of the system in the interest of the youth of the country.
