Seventy-four individuals, including homeless persons, were apprehended during a raid conducted by the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce on Tuesday, May 6, across parts of Lagos Island.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, posted a video of the operation, which included the arrest of an elderly man found taking shelter beneath a bridge.
According to Wahab, the individuals will soon be charged in court.

The operation covered several areas, including Falomo Bridge, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Oniru Beach, Law School, Lekki Phase 1 & 2, and the 1004 Estate area—locations where officials reportedly observed the presence of “undesirable elements.”
