A UK court has scheduled the trial of Marcus Arduini Monzo, 36, for June 3, 2025, at the Old Bailey in London.
Monzo faces multiple charges, including the murder of 14-year-old British-Nigerian schoolboy Daniel Anjorin, who was fatally attacked while walking to school in Hainault, northeast London, on April 30, 2024.
During a court appearance on May 2, 2025, Monzo pleaded not guilty to Daniel’s murder and to several other charges, including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, and aggravated burglary.
He admitted to possessing two offensive weapons—a katana and a tanto sword—but denied charges related to possessing a kitchen knife.
According to prosecutors, the incident began when Monzo allegedly crashed a van into a fence, injuring a pedestrian.

He then reportedly attacked Daniel from behind, inflicting fatal wounds with a sword.
Monzo is also accused of assaulting two police officers and a man inside his home during the subsequent rampage .
Daniel Anjorin was a student at Bancroft’s School in Woodford Green. His family described him as a “gentle and positive” individual and expressed devastation over his loss.
A GoFundMe campaign established in his memory has raised over £162,000, which his family plans to use to establish a new home as a tribute to Daniel’s legacy.
Monzo remains in custody as the legal proceedings continue
