The brother of popular Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan has spoken out about the events surrounding his arrest, revealing how their mother broke down in tears during the ordeal at GTBank.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), he narrated the emotional scene that unfolded when police officers allegedly arrived at the bank and arrested his brother.
He described their mother as being devastated by the incident.
Reports earlier indicated that VeryDarkMan was arrested in Abuja, allegedly on the orders of GTBank, after visiting the bank with his mother to protest multiple unauthorized deductions from her account — deductions reportedly made for loans she never took.
According to the brother, while bank staff were still reviewing the issue, officers arrived and took VeryDarkMan into custody.
“I received a call from my mum — she was crying,” he wrote. “She said policemen came and arrested my brother. For what? Is it now a crime to speak up for Nigerians when others remain silent?”
As of press time, neither GTBank nor the Nigeria Police Force has released an official statement regarding the arrest.
There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may be involved, though the agency has yet to comment.
