Lagos police arrest 35-year-old woman for allegedly k!lling man at rented serviced apartment

The Lagos State Police Command has made significant progress in unraveling a recent murder case reported at the Oko-Oba Division.
According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, officers received a report on March 29 about the murder of an unidentified man at a serviced apartment in the Abule Egba area.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that on March 27, 2025, around 5:20 p.m., a woman accompanied the deceased to rent a service apartment. A few hours later, she left the premises with the deceased’s vehicle and other personal belongings, telling the housekeeper she would return shortly,” Hundeyin said.
During a routine inspection the following day, March 28, the lifeless body of the man was found inside the apartment. At the scene, police recovered an empty syringe, two empty malt drink cans, and two bottles of water. The body was moved to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) mortuary for an autopsy, while efforts to track down the fleeing woman intensified.
Hundeyin stated that following a thorough and meticulous investigation by operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the suspect, identified as Adeola Adewale, 35, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Oko-Oba area of Lagos.
“During questioning, Adeola Adewale admitted to poisoning the deceased by serving him a malt drink laced with a toxic substance, which led to his death. Further investigation confirmed the victim’s identity as Mr. Adebayo, a 65-year-old man,” Hundeyin said.
The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues to uncover more details surrounding the incident.
