Motorist hits pregnant woman expecting his twins while she changed car tyre

Pregnant woman

A pregnant woman carrying twins was struck by a vehicle while changing her car tyre in America — and the driver has been identified as the father of her unborn children, Justin Ahkuoi.

The woman, who is now recovering from her injuries, was reportedly four months pregnant at the time.

Ahkuoi, the man behind the wheel, has since been taken into police custody.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Honolulu District Court, the incident occurred on April 8, just before noon.

Detective Dean Terakawa of the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) responded to a report of a possible domestic dispute and arrived to find the pregnant victim conscious and breathing after being hit by a vehicle.

The victim told Officer Reggee Bailey that she had been changing a tyre when Ahkuoi allegedly sped toward her and struck the left side of her body with his car. The impact reportedly caused her to spin and fall to the ground.

She further alleged that after hitting her, Ahkuoi exited the vehicle and said, “F*** you” and that he had “just killed their two babies.”

An eyewitness at the scene corroborated her account, prompting police to pursue charges.

Though a judge signed off on the criminal complaint on April 11, Ahkuoi was not arrested until April 21.

He has since been charged with second-degree attempted murder and is currently being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Centre on $150,000 bail.
