A Nigerian man sparked a scene at a Chicken Republic outlet in Ilorin, Kwara State, after allegedly transferring N2.3 million instead of N2,300 for his meal.

In a now-viral video, the visibly distressed man explained that he had only purchased food worth N2,300 but accidentally sent N2.3 million to the eatery’s account.

Shouting and visibly agitated, he demanded an immediate refund, stressing that it was a clear error and he needed the excess money reversed.

He claimed they had asked him to fill out a form since last week when the incident happened, but they failed to return the excess cash.

The incident has triggered a wave of mixed reactions online:

@retweet_repostz: “How do you make a mistake with three extra zeros? This doesn’t seem accidental.”

@DarijokeO: “At least it was a mistake. They should refund him.”

@SamuelNnosh: “Lol how can you make such an error? If it was N23,000, I’d understand — but N2.3M?”

@majorlouwe: “He probably tried to launder money and now claims it was a mistake we know the trick.”

@lor_key_: “If my account was used to collect that transfer, I’d resign immediately 😂”

@Thefikayomii: “They definitely jazzed him. There’s no way he skipped N23k to send 2.3M — something was off.”

@Officialsoliu: “He was eyeing a girl there and decided to show off. N2.3M? Not even N23,500? Let him calm down — he’ll get his money.”

As of now, it’s unclear whether the eatery has refunded the excess amount, but the clip has stirred a debate on financial carelessness.
