Tragedy struck in the Ilesha Baruba community of Baruten Local Government Area, Kwara State, as gunmen launched a deadly attack on a local motor park, leaving four people dead and two others critically injured.
According to intelligence sources cited by security analyst Zagazola Makama, about 10 armed men stormed the park around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, and began shooting indiscriminately at individuals gathered at a nearby relaxation spot.
Among the victims confirmed dead are Alhaji Ja’awire, Abduljabar, and Mohammed Nasamu, along with three others whose identities have yet to be confirmed.
Security personnel responded to the scene, where the deceased were transported to the Ilesha Baruba morgue for autopsy.
The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
