A woman who identified herself as Bolarinwa refused to leave the premises of CBEX in Ibadan after she lost all her investments.

Bolarinwa said she really suffered in Libya and showed scars on her hands to buttress her point that she was lucky to come back alive.

She said upon returning home, her neighbour told her about Cbex and invited her to participate to double her funds.

She said she put all she saved together, totalling $200 and invested it on the trading platform. She said she also collected her neighbours’ money totalling over $1000.

“Everything is now gone’ she wailed.

She was seen crouching and weeping in front of the office claiming that she was assured that something might still be done for them to recover their money.

Meanwhile, some of the investors in Ibadan have taken policemen to arrest a man who allegedly worked for the platform.

However, Cybex is not known to have any employees in Nigeria. The scheme elevates participants or investors to leadership positions based on the number of people they were able to bring into the network.

The person arrested might just be an investor who has risen in the network. Some of them rent spaces and provide clerical assistance to illiterates who want to take part in the scheme. The people they bring into the network increase their bonuses and give them promotions up the network hierarchy.

However, it does not confer direct employment status on them. They are also investors like the others.
