‘I was just thinking of resigning to start my business after cashing out’ Lady laments crash of Cbex

Several Nigerian women have taken to social media to lament the loss of various sums of hard dollars to the digital trading platform CBEX, which has allegedly crashed.

According to financial analysts, over $800,000, translating into over a trillion naira was stolen from Nigerians by those behind the shady trading platform.

An investor first brought the issue to the limelight a few days ago when he took to X to lament that he just realized withdrawals had been restricted on the platform only three days after he invested over $300.

Some investors dismissed his fears, claiming that the restriction was only temporary as it did not affect investors’ balances on the app.

However, on Monday, the active balances on the investors’ app were wiped off.

The platform had marketed itself as a high-return investment scheme, promising users 100% ROI within a month, with all transactions conducted in USD.

The collapse of the platform has plunged many people into anguish and open lamentations.

The women particularly have taken the crash very badly as they take to social media to share their losses and seek public sympathy.

A video of a particular woman named Nickie on TikTok has been trending.

In the video, Nickie claimed that she was already thinking of resigning from her 8 am-6 pm job to start a business of her own.

She lamented that Cbex had returned her to square one.
