Singer Portable arrested in Kwara over alleged threats against Saheed Osupa
Popular Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has been taken into custody by the Nigeria Police.
A video circulating on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment Portable interacted with officers, expressing confusion and speaking with others about the circumstances of his arrest.
In the footage, the singer revealed that a petition originating from Ilorin may be the reason behind his arrest.
He was seen seated in a vehicle, surrounded by police officers at an undisclosed location.
The police in Kwara have confirmed that Portable was arrested in connection with allegations of criminal def@mation, thre@t to life, incitement, and character assassination directed at a fellow artist, Saheed Osupa.
The police disclosed that an arrest warrant was obtained from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin before the operation.
Kwara State Police Command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, said Portable was taken to Ilorin for further investigation.
