This incident follows a similar explosion in the Idi-Araba area of Mushin, Lagos State, where a scavenger attempting to dismantle a military-grade grenade triggered an explosion, resulting in one death and multiple injuries.
Authorities have since warned the public, especially those involved in scavenging and scrap metal trading, to exercise caution and report suspicious objects to the nearest police station.
