A 29-year-old British man from Halifax has tragically passed away after collapsing at a bar in Benidorm, Spain, while celebrating his upcoming wedding with friends and family.
The incident occurred on March 22 at the Funky Flamingo bar, where the man was enjoying his stag party.
Witnesses reported that he fell backwards off a bar stool, hit his head, and collapsed in front of his father and friends.
Bar manager Gaston Luciano and a customer immediately attempted CPR, and paramedics continued resuscitation efforts for nearly an hour, including administering adrenaline.
Despite these efforts, he could not be revived.
The man had a history of heart issues, having suffered a heart attack at the age of 24.
He was a father-of-one and was due to marry in May.
Spanish National Police confirmed his death but stated that the exact medical cause remains unknown pending further investigation.
A TikToker who happened to be passing outside the bar at the time of the incident thought it was unusual to find so many police vehicles on the road cutting off traffic.
Unaware of the tragedy unfolding, he captioned the video: ‘Be careful in Benidorm! Lots of police, road closed, and ambulances everywhere… hope everyone is okay!’
He tells his followers: ‘You know something major is going in the ‘Dorm when they’ve shut the road off and they’ve got two ambulances, police cars… holy moly.’
He then gets closer to the bar and sees people crowding around outside.
‘What the smokes is going on? There’s even more police… there must be some form of accident, I hope they’re okay… it doesn’t look very good at all, not very good at all in fact.’
An employee at Funky Flamingo said: ‘The man had a heart attack and fell to the floor and hit his head hard.
‘He started bleeding a lot from the head. They tried to resuscitate him with CPR while the ambulance was coming, but it was unsuccessful.
