‘She invested her life savings in the wedding’, man defends Jos lady whose wedding was called off a day to ceremony

Elayo Confidence, a friend of Nigerian bride Patience Addra, whose wedding to Azi Abok was abruptly cancelled a day before the ceremony, has publicly defended her amid widespread criticism.
Confidence, in a Facebook post, asserted that Addra was not the cause of the wedding cancellation because she had put all her life savings into preparing for the ceremony.
The wedding, planned for Saturday, April 5, in Anguldi, Zawan Jos, was called off on Friday due to differences in church denominations.
Initial reports suggested that Patience, a Catholic, cancelled the wedding because she found out the hubby wanted them to attend his church, Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).
However, Jos-based writer Paul Kums shed more light on what transpired.
According to him, the groom’s mother, a member of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), objected to Patience’s intention to continue attending her Catholic church post-marriage, leading to the cancellation.
Confidence wrote:
“My Dearest Darling Patience Addra no one want your happiness better than yourself, I laugh when I hear and read different story lines on social media but I know how much of your life savings you’ve put to this, cheer up baby, no be you k!ll person, last last you go dey alight. I love you.”
