Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Mararaba Aboro in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been released by his abductors following the payment of a ransom.
However, the kidnappers chose to detain the church’s financial secretary, identified as Danjuma, who had gone to deliver the ransom on behalf of the church.
Reports say Pastor Ali, aged 30, was abducted from his residence in the early hours of April 8, 2025, barely two weeks after he was posted to the church.
The kidnappers reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦100 million.
According to a source quoted by Daily Trust, Danjuma, an elderly official, went to deliver an unspecified amount of money to secure the pastor’s freedom but was taken hostage by the criminals.
“The pastor was released, but they held back the man who brought the money. No one knows why. The entire community is shocked,” the source revealed.
Pastor Ali later confirmed his freedom in a Facebook post, also acknowledging Danjuma’s abduction while praying for his safety and swift release.
