Bobrisky spent N35m for VIP treatment in Prison – Kirikiri Baale alleges

Chief Babalola Shabi, the Baale of Kirikiri Town, has made startling claims about crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, alleging he received VIP treatment during his time at Kirikiri prison by bribing correctional officers.
During a town hall meeting held on April 5 as part of Police Week events, Shabi claimed Bobrisky smuggled eight ATM cards into the prison.
He allegedly used them through local POS operators to process N35 million in transactions — money reportedly used to pay off prison officials for preferential treatment.
According to Shabi, Bobrisky was not housed within the main facility but lived in a private apartment arranged by corrupt prison personnel.
He said this arrangement was uncovered through his intervention, after inviting local POS operators to his palace.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) later traced the money trail.
Shabi noted that some officers involved have been suspended and that the property used to house Bobrisky has been demolished.
He also revealed he was questioned by both the DSS and EFCC.
His claims contradict a National Assembly report, which stated Bobrisky remained within prison premises but received special privileges.
