A lady has allegedly poisoned her boyfriend over infidelity in the Iyo Polo community, Marine Base area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Reports indicate that following the suspected poisoning, the woman concealed the man’s lifeless body beneath his bed, where it remained for approximately three days.
The situation began to draw attention when neighbours noticed a strong, unpleasant odour coming from the apartment.
Efforts by concerned residents to contact the victim were unsuccessful. Their concerns intensified when the woman began displaying suspicious behaviour and refused anyone entry into the home.
Eventually, the police were alerted. Upon arrival, officers forcibly entered the apartment and discovered the decomposing remains of the victim hidden under the bed.
The suspect was immediately apprehended and taken into custody as investigations commenced.
While authorities have not officially confirmed the motive, early reports suggest the act may have been driven by a domestic disagreement.
