A female employee has sparked widespread conversation online after revealing that her boss rejected a promotional video she created for work because she wore her natural hair.
Sharing the incident on X (formerly Twitter), the young woman identified as Mimee Crochet on X, posted a screenshot of the feedback from her employer, who stated the video could not be used as her hair was not plaited.

The decision triggered strong reactions on social media, with many condemning the act as discriminatory and highlighting the broader issue of hair politics.
Critics argue that such policies pressure black women to alter their natural appearance in favour of wigs or weaves to meet workplace standards.
Reacting to the incident, the employee wrote, “This is insane to me. Can’t create content for my work because it’s my natural hair. It doesn’t even look unkempt.”
Her post quickly went viral, igniting debates about cultural bias and the need for greater acceptance of natural hairstyles in professional settings.
