Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for rejecting the petition filed for her recall.
This is coming on the heels of her condemnation of the electoral body for alleged bias in the recall process.
While addressing her supporters in Okehi LGA of Kogi state on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan accused INEC of bias and colluding with her political opponents.
She had said,“What I see INEC doing is aiding and guiding petitioners on how to perfect their illicit acts.”
However, in a tweet today following the rejection of the petition by INEC, Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked the electoral body for throwing out the petition.
In a statement released earlier today, INEC said that the petition to remove the Senator representing Kogi Central did not meet the constitutional requirements.
As a result, the commission stated that no further action would be taken on the matter.
Reacting to the decision, Senator Natasha took to her Instagram page to express her appreciation, acknowledging INEC for its fairness.
She also extended gratitude to her husband, the people of Kogi Central, and Nigerians at large for their unwavering support.
