The deputy spokesperson of the Nigerian Senate, Sen Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, has explained why he lashed out at former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, at the Senate public hearing into the sexu@l allegation Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan levelled against Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Recall that a video trended showing Nwaebonyi and Ezekwesili hurling insults at each other.
During an interview with Channels TV on Tuesday evening, Nwaebonyi said he got angry after Ezekweisli told him to shut up when he wanted to speak.
He said the former minister who came as a witness for Natasha refused to swear to an oath in order to give her testimony and he offered to be sworn in so he could give his own testimony.
He said the former minister off-handly dismissed him by telling him to shut up.
He said this provoked him.
To a question of whether he regretted his action, he said he did not because Ezekwesili insulted him first.
“I gave it to her,” he said.
