Adura Aloba, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police outside the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

Adura was reportedly taken into custody on Wednesday alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, aka King White, shortly after attending a legal proceeding concerning a phone he sold to one Damola Ayinde.

Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, had clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi during a January press briefing over allegations against Adura.

The dispute stemmed from a petition filed by Fabiyi on December 13, 2024, alleging that Adura initiated an Instagram chat claiming to have video evidence related to Mohbad’s death and demanding N3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the footage.

Adura denied the accusation, stating that the alleged messages originated from Ayinde, to whom he had sold his phone.

A forensic investigation was conducted, and the case remains under court review.

Reacting to the arrest, Abosede appeared in a viral video on Wednesday, visibly distraught and pleading for help to locate her son.

She accused Fabiyi and another individual, Sam Jojo, of orchestrating his arrest.

Speaking in Yoruba, she said, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him. He did nothing wrong. They must not harm him. He is sick.”

In December, Adura had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others, alleging that they hacked his TikTok account to damage his reputation. He also filed a N1 billion lawsuit for defamation, tampering with evidence, and fraudulent accusations against him.

A family member who spoke anonymously confirmed the arrest, stating that Koleosho was taken away immediately after the court proceedings.

“We don’t know Adura’s whereabouts, but his friend Koleosho was arrested. It happened suddenly. We heard that there had been a heated exchange between Koleosho and Fabiyi regarding the phone issue, which might have led to the arrest. We are trying to locate them,” the source revealed.

Efforts to reach Fabiyi for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages as of the time of filing this report.

A police source confirmed to the Punch that the arrest was carried out by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos.

However, when asked for further details, the source directed inquiries to the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Ayuba Umma, who was unavailable for comments.
