A truck has crashed into Ayetoro Market in Epe, Lagos, claiming at least three lives.
The incident happened today November 11, 2024.
The truck was descending from Ita-Opo when it reportedly lost its brakes and crashed into a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before landing in the market.
The sad news was broken on X by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
Some residents who witnessed the incident have also uploaded their clips on X, with some suggesting that there were more casualities.
LASTMA wrote:
“A fat@l accident occurred due to a brake failure of a Truck descending from Ita-Opo and hit a commercial Tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry, then also rammed into the Ayetoro Market/Complex. 3 lives were lost and they’ve been taken to the morgue at Epe General hospital while we have a Tow truck on ground to evacuate the affected vehicles.
Traffic has been diverted for easy vehicular movement.”
