Woman seeks protection order against husband who demands intimacy eight times every night

A Harare woman, Melocia Gwata, has requested a protection order against her husband, George Kusotera, due to his extreme demands for intimacy.
Gwata revealed her plight at the Harare Civil Court, explaining how Kusotera coerced her into having intercourse up to eight times every night.
She told the court that her husband resorted to violence whenever she refused to meet his demands.
Appearing before Magistrate Judith Taruvinga, Gwata said that her husband often woke her up in the middle of the night, insisting on being intimate, even after multiple encounters during the same day.
She highlighted how the constant demands had severely affected her physical and mental well-being.
Gwata also revealed that Kusotera would assault her when she could no longer comply due to exhaustion and pain.
She claimed that her husband even threatened divorce if she rejected his advances, sometimes abusing her in front of their children.
In his defence, Kusotera acknowledged his wife’s complaints and apologized, stating that he did not realize the discomfort he was causing. He pledged to stop the abuse.
After considering the case, Magistrate Taruvinga granted Gwata a protection order to ensure her safety from further abuse.
