A Texas man is de@d after he slipped, fell and accidentally shot himself while taking out the trash.
The police said first responders received a call for help about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, after a man was found “lying on the ground unresponsive” at an apartment complex on San Antonio’s north side.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man, 58, was carrying his garbage and a handgun when he slipped on mud and tumbled down a small hill.
In the process of rolling downhill, his pistol reportedly went off and a round hit him in the chest, according to the police.
It is not certain if the deceased was holding the gun in his hand when he fell or it was in its holster.
It is also yet to be determined if the deceased had the safety valve of the gun activated at the time of the tragic incident.
A neighbour reported hearing the man crying out after being shot. She said her brother ran outside to help.
She told KENS she looked out of the window and saw the man on the ground yelling, ‘Help me!’
