A man has been arrested in connection with the destruction of a part of the FESTAC link bridge and the theft of some of its iron rods.
It would be recalled that a resident drew attention to the damage being done to the bridge by iron scrap collectors, who chipped off part of the concrete on the bridge to access the iron rods buried inside it.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Wahab Tokunbo, has now announced that someone has been arrested in connection with the crime.
According to him, the suspect claimed to be an indigene of Kwara State.
He said the man claimed to have seen the iron lying on the bridge and picked it to sell it.
