The Nigerian Immigration Service has announced the suspension of an officer, Okpravero Ufuoma, after a viral video of him asking a tourist to find him ‘something’.

Ufuoma, who was stationed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, os seen in the viral video asking the tourist what he had to give him.

The tourist, who was filming the interaction secretly told the officer he did not have money, to which officer Ufuoma said “Common.”

He added that so long as it was coming from the tourist, whatever he offered was okay with him.

The tourist disclosed that he only had his card with him and suggested using a POS or an ATM to get cash.

Ufuoma did not like the option and insisted that the tourist should offer him cash.

The video went viral after it was released and got to NIS, which has now reacted to the incident in a statement.

The NIS in the statement said Ufuoma’s actions did not reflect the values and ethics of the NIS.

The organization said Ufuoma had been indefinitely suspended pending the outcome of disciplinary procedures which are in accordance with the law and Public Service rules.
