Remedial work done on the flood drains on the Long Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has proven to be of little or no effect as the bridge is currently flooded following the downpour of today, Thursday, June 6, 2024.
The rain which came down heavily in the morning petered out towards the afternoon but has not fully abated as of the time of filing this report.
Accumulated flood water remained on the bridge, making passage difficult for vehicles, leading to traffic backing up to the Kara Bridge and Berger in Lagos.

Some vehicles broke down in the water, compounding the situation.
Some pedestrians were seen in the evening trekking to Ojodu Berger following the gridlock on the bridge.
There are reports of flooding in parts of Lagos as well, such as Lekki Phase 1, and FESTAC Town.
