A trending video has shown how a couple tried to cheer their daughter who was diagnosed with Leukemia.
The mother of the child, Kristine Xiong Yang, posted the video on Tiktok, showing her husband bearing the child up on his shoulder while singing Christmas jingles.
She wrote:
“We cried nonstop the whole first week of her diagnosis. It was so hard to watch her have fun, but know that she was battling this evil monster within her bloodstream. We would try to keep her entertained all while try to keep ourselves from crying in front of her. Sometimes we’d have to take turns hiding in the restroom to cry so she wouldn’t see us. And even then, she’d sense it and ask us why we were so sad. 😭
I felt like a mad woman crying everywhere! We didn’t want to see anyone or talk to anyone because all we’d be able to do was cry. We could hardly eat and drink anything. After we talked to the oncologist in the hallway, we prayed and lifted Lola up to the Lord in prayer, but it was only through our mouth and not fully with our heart and soul. We still had our own doubts, anger, confusion, and sadness. It wasn’t until we finally found it in our hearts to fully give our baby up to the Lord that we finally found a sense of peace. We still find ourselves crying here and there, especially at night when we are cuddling her to sleep. But the Lord’s peace dwells within our hearts and his joy gets us through the rough days.
Thank you to each and every person who reached out to us. We feel overwhelmed by all the love and support. Someone said her own child was diagnosed with the disease at age 2, but successfully fought it and is now 12.
Another said he was diagnosed with the same disease when he was young and he survived it.
